Andrew "Andy" Davis, 76, Belton, MO, formerly of St. Joseph, passed away, March 28, 2024.
He was born December 27, 1947, in Mound City, MO to Eldon and Wilma Jean (McDonald) Davis. He was raised in Mound City and graduated from Mound City High School in 1965. He then joined the U.S. Air Force; receiving an honorable discharge.
He then returned to Mound City and worked for Travel & Transport in St. Joseph, where he met his former wife Sherry Binder. They married in 1973, and their son Sean was born in 1974.
He was a former member and Deacon of Brookdale Presbyterian Church.
He then worked for Memorial Park Cemetery and for Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel for 15 years, and retiring Triumph Foods in 2010.
Andy was a Cub Scout leader for Webeloes. He loved to bowl and dance. He was nicknamed "Crazy Legs Andy".
Survivors include his son Sean Davis (Tina) of Raymore, MO; grandchildren Chase and Kennedy Davis; two brothers Lloyd Davis, Glen Davis; a sister Patty Judy; sister-in-law Sheila Murray; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents, wife Sherry, and a sister Peggy Horseman.
Andy was an avid Royals, Chiefs, and Missouri Tiger fan. He also thoroughly enjoyed playing bingo with his friends in the nursing home, and driving his motorized wheelchair. He was a hot rod with his wheelchair.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Services will be Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel. Inurnment with military honors will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 2, 2024, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
