Trade negotiations between the United States and Canada are moving forward again following a conversation between Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney and President Donald Trump. Carney described the discussion as productive, saying both governments are working toward an agreement that could create jobs, improve affordability and respect Canadian sovereignty. Negotiating teams are expected to continue discussions over the coming weeks. Trade talks broke down in late August, with tariffs remaining a major source of disagreement.
