Katherine Kay Remmers, 82 years old, of Warsaw, Missouri, formerly of Wathena, Kansas passed away Saturday, August 19th, 2023, at the Benedictine Living Community – St. Joseph, Missouri.
Kay was born on December 11th, 1940, in Columbus, Nebraska to Walter and Emily (Shotkoski) Phillips.
She graduated from Auburn High School in 1958.
Kay married Tom Remmers on September 6th, 1958, in Auburn, Nebraska.
She was a member of the St Ann’s Catholic Church in Warsaw, Missouri. Kay was an avid card player, she enjoyed playing with friends, family, card leagues, tournaments (won the Wathena Card tournament several years with teammate Virginia Shaw). She hiked the Grand Canyon twice and rode the rapids down the Grand Canyon and this was all done in her sixties.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Tommy Lee Remmers, son, Jerry Lee Remmers, grandson, Kanton Remmers.
Survivors – Kim Manthe (Ray), St. Joseph, Missouri, Pam Whetstine (Roger), Troy, Kansas, Sue Remmers, St. Joseph, Missouri. Grandchildren – Kriston (Manthe) & Brett Goodwin, Joe & Britani Manthe, Dayton Remmers, Dru & Laura Whetstine, Cole & Kia Whetstine, Riley Whetstine, Garrett Meng, Tanna (Meng) & Daniel Kuhnert, Kassi Meng. 12 great-grandchildren
Kay’s wishes were to be cremated with no services.
