James "Jim" Punzo, 86, St. Joseph, Missouri; passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Jim was born on March 3, 1939 in St. Joseph, Missouri to the late Charles and Josephine (Nowak) Punzo, Sr. He was a 1956 graduate of Lafayette High School
James married Theresa Goben on November 25, 1960 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, and recently celebrated their sixty-fifth wedding anniversary. Together they raised their six children, Jim was a devoted husband and father.
Mr. Punzo was a dedicated employee and provider for his family, who spent his working career with Pepsi- Cola, Continental Can, Goetz Brewery and Dugan Lowe OIl Co.
Jim was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church. He enjoyed working on old cars, motorcycles and could often be found tinkering in the garage. His greatest joy was spending time with his family.
Jim is survived by his wife, Theresa, of the home; three daughters, Angela Watson, Debbie Berkowitz (Ellis) and Marci Meikel; three sons, Galen Punzo, Jimmy Punzo and Preston Punzo (Cali); brother, Dennis Punzo (Lois); fourteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Jim was also preceded in death by two brothers, Charles, Jr. and Richard Punzo and special aunts, uncles and friends.
Funeral Service 10:00 AM Saturday, December 6, 2025 at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel, where the family will receive friends one hour prior from 9:00 to 10:00 AM. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
The family has requested memorial donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
