David Edward Duncan, 87, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away on September 12, 2024, at a local nursing home.
He was born December 22, 1936 in St. Joseph, Missouri to Donald and Margaruite (Zimmerman) Duncan. David married Rosanna Smith on February 26, 1961. He was a 1954 graduate of Lafayette High School and served in the United Sates Navy. David retired from the United States Postal service in 1992 after 25 years of service.
David had a passion for playing and coaching baseball, softball and golf. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, where he was the coach of their church league softball team for 10 years. David took great pride in playing with all three sons on the team together.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
Survivors include sons, Douglas Duncan (Rhonda), Robert Duncan (Sandra), Scott Duncan (Christine); grandchildren, Drake Duncan, Baylor Duncan, James Fletcher II (Megan), Matthew Hines (Ryley), Amber Fletcher, Ashley Watson (Justin), Danielle Lilly and ten great-grandchildren; two nieces, Linda Barton (Mike) and Brenda Marriott (Chris).
David loved and cherished his family and friends.
Visitation 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM with the funeral service following on Saturday, September 21st at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery.
