Arthur L. Sturgeon died on March 2, 2024, at the age of 78. He was born on June 22, 1945, in St. Joseph, Missouri, the youngest son of Chester O. and Esther M. Sturgeon.
He had moved around in his younger years and had settled in Southern California, working in construction and eventually having his own construction business. In 2005, he moved to Denver, Colorado, and lived there until 2016 when he moved back to Missouri to be closer to family. He lived in Cameron, Missouri, from 2016 to 2024 when he moved to St. Joseph due to his illness.
Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Louise (Garland (Junior or J.R.)) Thompson, his brother, Larry, and his sister, Linda.
Arthur is survived by his sister, Wanda Irene Sturgeon, his daughter, Jacquelyn (Jaci) (Drexel) Cook; his grandchildren, Matthew (Chelsey) Brewer and his sons, Eli and Zach; Danelle (Jonathan) Pray, and their daughters, Breanna and Alexus; Aron (Brandi) Sharp, and their sons, Jake and Luke; and Derek (Nikki) Cook and their daughter, Josie. He is also survived by his daughter, Kimberly Barnes and her children, Jonathan, Elizabeth and Andrew; along with his nieces and nephews, Lisa Sturgeon, Jeffrey Sturgeon, Teresa Cline, Clint Thompson and Andrea Roady, and his first wife, Darla Nitti.
