20-year-old sentenced to 20 years in St. Joseph shooting

A 20-year-old St. Joseph man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison for firing a gun from a moving vehicle into a home in the 1100 block of Randolph Street in St. Joseph, New Year's Day 2022.

Nicholas Minear, Jr’s shot struck 55-year-old Larry McClain, killing him.

Minear pleaded guilty to unlawful use of a weapon earlier this year and returned to the Buchanan County Courthouse for sentencing.
