All-MEC football teams, honorees announced Tuesday

The All-MEC football teams were announced on Tuesday.

Maryville head coach Matt Webb was unanimously chosen as the MEC Coach of the Year.

First-team offensive performers include Savannah lineman Jackson Hagler, Benton receiver Devon Hoffmann, Savannah running back Cade Chappell, Savannah specialist Alex Hopper and Benton tight end Denver Domann.

On the defensive side, first-team honorees include Savannah’s Cooper Burnsides, Savannah defensive back Truman Bodenhausen, Savannah linebacker Landon Noland, Lafayette kicker Carter Hewitt and Benton defense specialist Landan Stallsworth. 

Savannah and Maryville each won a share of the MEC title this year, with the Spoofhounds topping the Savages 33-28 in the Class 3 District 8 title.
