The St. Joseph Mustangs kept their season alive with a come-from-behind 5-3 win over Chillicothe at Phil Welch Stadium Monday in a MINK League Wildcard game.
The Mudcats led 3-1 after the fifth inning, but St. Joseph scored a pair of runs in the seventh to tie the game and then two more in the eighth to take the lead.
The Mustangs had 11 total hits, including three doubles. Cole Slibowski, Jake Grauburger, Chase Spoonmore and Sean O’Malley each had a pair of hits.
Braden Barry was the winning pitcher, striking out two in two innings of middle relief.
The Mustangs move onto the next round, facing Clarinda on the road on Tuesday night at 7 p.m. with a chance to get into the MINK League Championship. The A’s are 6-0 against the Mustangs this season.
