Toby Simpson, 41, of Wathena, Kansas passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at his home.
Toby was born on February 18, 1984, in St. Joseph, Missouri to Roger and Dorene (Peterson) Simpson.
He graduated from Wathena High School in 2002 and then graduated from Atchison Vo-Tech School. He worked in construction as an electrician. Toby loved to fish, go camping, float trips, golfing, and mushroom hunting. He was also an enthusiastic San Francisco 49ers fan.
Toby married Brooke Essig in Jamacia. They later divorced.
Survivors include his children, Brysen and Beckett Simpson; Father, Roger Simpson (Kristi); Mother, Dorene Gray (Darrell); Girlfriend, Brittany Wetmore, (children, Aubrey and Asher); Brother, Kagin Simpson (Christine), (Nieces, Riley, Elaina and Kinlee); Sister, Rachel Simpson (Cody Smithers) (Nephews, Adyn and Barrett, Niece, Delilah); Numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends.
Visitation is set for 6-8 P.M. Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at the Harman-Rohde Funeral Home in Wathena, Kansas. There is no scheduled service, inurnment at a later date.
