Corby M. Smith, 59, passed away on August 18, 2023. Born on January 13, 1964, in St. Joseph, Missouri, Corby embodied the spirit of love and care all her life.
Grieved by her loving husband Richard, devoted children Penny, Julia, and Jason (Ashley), brother Glenn, and nephew John, she was a beacon of warmth. In her lifetime, she brought joy to her six beloved grandchildren and was deeply loved by her children. Not forgetting, she was preceded in her journey by her beloved parents, George and Shirley.
Corby worked hard earning her nursing degree from both MWSU and NWMSU. Her benevolent nature led her to teach nursing at Highland Community College and work at numerous nursing homes, touching countless lives in the process. She found joy in taking care of her patients.
Among her cherished memories is her marriage to Richard in 1978. A devout Christian, she professed love and grace. Corby’s exemplary character will forever resonate in the hearts she touched.
Graveside Farewell Services & Inurnment 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, Whispering Pines Cremation Garden at St. Joseph Memorial Park. The family will gather with friends 12:00 Noon to 2:00 P.M. Monday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory.
