The St. Joseph Mustangs managed just four hits, but took advantage of five errors to beat the Des Moines Peak Prospects 6-4 on Wednesday night at Phil Welch Stadium.
Only three of the Mustangs’ six runs were earned. They also drew eight walks in the victory.
On the bump, former Savannah Savage Ty Hilsabeck was lights out, getting the win in six innings. He struck out eight, walked four and allowed just two hits and two earned runs.
Pitcher Jack Wells earned the save in the ninth.
The Mustangs improve to 8-5 on the season. St. Joseph will host the Carroll, Iowa Merchants on Thursday night at 7 p.m.
