Mo. police officer injured after crash during pursuit

LIVINGSTON COUNTY—One person was injured in an accident just after 10a.m. Wednesday in Livingston County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2011 Ford Crown Victoria police vehicle driven by Brandon S. Williams, 33, Independence, MO., was northbound on Route D in Ludlow with lights activated and sirens on in a pursuit.

The vehicle came to a railroad crossing, became airborne, and struck the ground with the undercarriage.

Livingston County EMS transported Williams to Ray County Memorial Hospital. He was properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the MSHP.

Authorities have not released details on what prompted the chase.
