Betty Jo Liu, 72, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Friday, October 13, 2023.
She was born October 14, 1950.
Betty married Solomon Liu on September 2, 1983.
Betty was a psychiatric nurse’s aide until she became a correctional officer for the state. She retired from WRDCC in 2004.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Minnie (Tarter) Symington; daughter, Mary Blanchard (O’Neal); granddaughter, Miranda Clary; sisters, Jeanie Shaver, Gina Scroggins, Margie Boatwright; brother Larry Symington; several nieces and nephews.
Survivors include: her husband, Solomon of the home; sons, Jeff O’Neal, Kevin O’Neal; granddaughters, Cieara Reed (O’Neal), Ariel Jackson (Birkby), Mekaila O’Neal, Makenzie O’Neal, Montanna O’Neal; grandson Jordan Williams (Clary); 8 great-grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Bradley, Marlene Canterbury (Alex), Jonna Clark (Richard); several nieces and nephews.
Farewell Services 3:00 P.M. Friday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will gather with friends 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. The family suggests memorial gifts to Cancer Research in her honor.
