Missouri man dies after ejected in violent SUV crash

PULASKI COUNTY—A Missouri man died in an accident just before 1:30p.m. Tuesday in Pulaski County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2002 GMC Yukon driven by Johnny M. Curtis, 52, Blackhorn,  was eastbound on Interstate 44 just east of the Waynesville/Fort Leonard Wood exit.

The SUV traveled off the right side of the road, struck a highway sign, an embankment, went airborne, rolled and the driver was ejected.

EMS transported Curtis to Fort Leonard Wood Army Hospital where he was pronounced dead. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to the MSHP.
