Erminia Maria "Irma" Flores, age 94, of Atchison, KS, died peacefully on October 19, 2024.
Mass of Christian burial will be on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Church with Rev. Meinrad Miller, OSB, as celebrant. A visitation will be on Tuesday, beginning at 9:30 a.m. with a rosary at 10:30 a.m. prior to mass at church. She will be laid to rest at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to St. Benedict Parish or the American Cancer Society. The Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home has been entrusted with funeral care.
Irma was born on July 7, 1930, in Atchison, KS, the daughter of the late Bardomiano Flores and Maria (Cordero) Flores. She attended St. Joseph Grade School, graduating from Atchison High School.
Irma worked at Flores Cleaners and lived in Atchison until 1953, when she relocated to Chicago, Illinois, where she worked as a file clerk and receptionist for Aldens Co. from 1953-1982, and then Mr. Travel from 1984-1987.
She was a member of St. Joseph Church in Atchison, now part of St. Benedict Parish and the Ladies Auxiliary of the V.F.W.
Irma was the last living child in her family, and is preceded in death by her sisters, Andrea Sanchez, Marie Flores Jimenez, Barbara Lister, Juanita Card; her brothers, Joseph D. Flores, Manuel Flores, Viviano J. Flores and Celestino (Sal) Flores. She is survived by her many nieces and nephews.
