The Missouri Department of Transportation, along with Clarkson Construction, will narrow northbound I-29 to one lane tonight, for girder placement on the Gene Field Road bridge project.
The road will be narrowed to one lane tonight from 7pm to 10am. The contractor will use short-term rolling closures while crews set the new bridge girders. Access to the ramp from westbound Fredrick Boulevard, or Missouri Route 6, onto northbound I-29 will be closed during the rolling closures. Motorists will experience delays. Rolling closures will stop traffic for up to 15 minutes between 10 p.m. and 4 a.m. A 10.6-foot width restriction will also be in place.
The Gene Field Bridge replacement project will widen the bridge and replace its driving surface as well as add pedestrian sidewalks to the north and south sides of the bridge. This project is scheduled to be completed by this July.
