RICE COUNTY, Minn. —Law enforcement in Minnesota asked for the public’s help in locating a suspect in a weekend stabbing in Rice County.
Rice County officials notified the Harrison County Missouri Sheriff's office the suspect identified as Ricardo Ortiz was in northwest Missouri. Deputies with the assistance of the Bethany Police Department and Missouri Highway Patrol took Ortiz into custody.
Ortiz was wanted after a 50-year-old man was stabbed a little before midnight Saturday in the 600 block of Third Avenue NW in Faribault, Minnesota, according to the Fairbault Police Department.
Officers were called to the scene and found the man with multiple stab wounds to his torso and arm. Police say the stabbing happened inside the victinm's home.
The victim was transported to Allina Health Faribault Medical Center by North Ambulance, stabilized, and transported to North Memorial Hospital in the Twin Cities for surgical care.
