KANSAS CITY —A man faces felony charges after police in Blue Springs found the man's girlfriend stranded in a bathtub and two 5-year-old girls malnourished and describing abuse, according to Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker.
According to court records, police were dispatched on Feb. 12, to the 400 block of SW Moreland School Road and found in the residence a 27-year-old woman stuck in the bathtub.
She suffers from Multiple Sclerosis and was unable to get out of the tub. The woman was suffering from horrific wounds from sitting in the tub reportedly for days.
She was sitting in inches of human waste. A doctor, after examining her, stated that she faced a life-threatening situation if she had not been treated.
In a bedroom in the house, police also found two malnourished 5-year-old girls. One was "skin and bones" in the words of one police officer and the girls were eating out of a cereal bag.
The girls underwent a forensic interview later at the Child Protection Center and detailed other abuse. In 2020, the Children's Division reported repeated contacts with the victims and told police that the defendant, by agreement, was not supposed to have contact with the girls.
Police arrested Bryan Snow, 30, Blue Springs. He faces two counts of felony Endangering the Welfare of a Child Creating Substantial Risk 1st Degree and a felony charge of Domestic Abuse 2nd Degree, according to the Jackson County Attorney's office. Prosecutor's requested a bond of $65,000.
