Robert (Bob) Brittain (73) passed away Saturday April 8th, 2023 peacefully at his home surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born October 20, 1949 in Springfield, South Dakota to Merl & Dorothy (Frye) Brittain. He graduated from North Andrew High School in 1969. In July, 1969 he married Norma Kay Cavey. Bob left for Army boot camp in October 1969 serving for 6 years.
Being a "jack of all trades and a master of none" as he put it, he became an auto body repairman at various shops over the years. In 1990, he owned and operated his own business, Bob’s Body Shop in Savannah, MO. He also worked as a truck driver for Norris Quarry, MODOT, and Sur-gro retiring at the age of 70.
Through the years, sports, hunting, and fishing took up his free time. He played slow pitch ball until the age of 50. Then camping and boating on the Missouri River took priority along with "Brittain Family Fun" vacations and cheering on the grandkids in sports.
Bob leaves behind his wife Kay; children, Jami Brittain of Savannah, MO and Cody (Susan) Brittain of Bolckow, MO; grandchildren, Chase (Anna) White of Fremont, NE, Clayton (Krystal) White of Rosendale, M0, Austin, Bryce and Cassidy Brittain of Bolckow, MO; great-grandchildren, Rudy White and Callan White; sisters Cheryl (Dean) Blair of Clarksdale, MO, Pat (Carey) Rhoten of North Falmouth, MA, Barbara Davis, The Villages, FL, and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Visitation will be 6:00pm – 8:00pm Friday, April 14, 2023 at Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home Savannah, MO.
