COVID-19 hospitalizations back up; St. Joseph reports 53 news cases, 3 deaths

Hospitalizations have gone back up as St. Joseph health officials report 53 new COVID-19 cases Monday and three additional deaths since the last report Friday.

Buchanan County has now recorded 121 deaths since the pandemic began, the latest three men, one in his 50’s, one in his 70’s, and one in his 80’s. The county has had 7,857 total cases of coronavirus.

Mosaic Life Care reports 68 total COVID-19 patients in its system; 62 in St. Joseph, five in Maryville, and one in Albany. Mosaic had reported 49 COVID-19 patients at its St. Joseph hospital Sunday.

Mosaic has tested 58,806 area residents with 7,480 testing positive. Mosaic is awaiting results from 288 tests.

Andrew County reports four new coronavirus cases with the total now at 1,502.

Doniphan County, Kansas reports 656 total cases.

Missouri health officials report 368,316 total cases since the coronavirus pandemic began with 4,947 deaths.

Kansas reports 205,600 cases and 2,448 deaths.
