Chiefs rookie OL Lucas Niang opts out of playing in 2020

Kansas City Chiefs rookie offensive lineman Lucas Niang has told the team he will opt out of playing during the 2020 season.

Niang played collegiately at TCU and the Chiefs selected him 96th overall in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

He was one of several canidates to get playing time at right guard after starter Laurent Duvernay-Tardif also opted out of playing this season, along with free-agent additions Kelechi Osemele and Mike Remmers.

Niang, Duvernay-Tardif and running back Damien Williams are the three Chiefs that have now opted out of the 20202 season.
