2 hospitalized after 4-vehicle Buchanan Co. crash

BUCHANAN COUNTY—Two people were injured in an accident just after 4:30p.m. Tuesday in Buchanan County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2004 Jeep Cherokee driven by Tyler M. Odell, 25, St. Joseph, was eastbound on U.S. 36 at Interstate 229 in St. Joseph. 

The driver failed to stop for a red light. The Jeep struck the front of a 2018 Chevy Silverado driven by Joel C. Jorgensen, 32, Troy, Kansas. 

The impact caused the Jeep to strike a concrete barrier with its undercarriage and a westbound 2010 Kia Forte driven by Eli C. Gallagher, 36, St. Joseph.

The impact caused the Kia to strike a 2005 GMC Yukon driven by Dustin C. Robinson, 39, Elwood, Kansas.

Buchanan County EMS transported Odell to Mosaic Life Care. A private vehicle transported Jorgensen to Mosaic. Odell was not wearing a seat belt, according to the MSHP.
