John “Johnny Rotten” Krull, 60, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Saturday, February 28, 2026.
He was born September 30, 1965 in St. Joseph to David and Lonnie (Hayes) Krull. John grew up in St. Joseph and graduated from Benton High School.
John married Cindy Winder on November 3, 1988. She survives of the home.
He worked for several autobody/paint shops before starting his own shop. It was there his artistry in the craft really came alive, with his work being featured in car shows and in a magazine.
He loved music and playing his guitar. He was a member of several local rock bands.
An outgoing guy who liked to have fun, John was always up for an adventure. He loved riding his Harley and going on bike trips with his friends. He also loved playing with his dog, Hunter. The pair enjoyed boating on Smithville and Perry lakes.
John expressed his faith by attending Faith United Baptist Church.
He leaves a legacy of good times and good music had with friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Cherie Johnston and Greg Krull; and sister-in-law, Wendy Winder.
Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Cindy; children, Hillari Krull and Robert Krull (Michelle); beloved granddogs, Gracie, Grover, Gibson, and Sophie; in-laws, Rick and Jackie Winder; sister-in-law, Angie Krull and her children, Zach Rucker (Faythe) and Samara Timms; nephews, Mike and Mark Krull, and Rickey Winder; several great-nieces and nephews; and many cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held near his birthday. Natural Farewell under the direction of Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. The family suggests memorial contributions to the St. Joseph Animal Shelter.
