Bill Baber, 91, of Cameron, MO formerly of Gower, MO passed away, July 4, 2023.
He was born on April 21, 1932 to Frank and Gladys (Collier) Baber in Smithville, MO. Bill graduated from Camden Point High School. He then attended Northwest Missouri State College and graduated in 1954 with a bachelor’s degree in engineering.
Bill worked for the Missouri State Highway and Transportation and retired after 36 years in 1992.
Bill was a member of the Gower Baptist Church and later a member of the Kidder Baptist Church and served both churches as a Deacon. He volunteered for Meals on Wheels.
He was a member of the Gower Lions Club and was past president. He was a 32nd degree member of the Scottish Rite at the Gower Masonic Lodge where he was past master.On December 29, 2002 he was united in marriage to Mary Bottorff. After their marriage they lived in Gower and resided in Cameron most of their married life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brothers, Bobby Baber, Harold Baber, and Willard Baber; nephew, Steve Baber.
Bill is survived by his wife Mary; step-children, Clifford (Debbie) Bottorff, Sharon (Junior) Burke, Gail (Jeff) Kipp; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews, Deborah DeSchepper, Janet (Tony) Wilson, Lynn Beggs, Pam Gardner, Mark (Nancy) Baber, and John Baber; and numerous great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. Masonic Service at 2:00 p.m. with Funeral Services following Friday, July 7th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower.
Burial: Community of Smithville Memorial Cemetery, Smithville, MO.
