David L. Stahl 1957 - 2023

David L. Stahl, 65 of Morrill, Kansas passed away peacefully at Stormont Vail Hospital on September 14th 2023, surrounded by his family.

David was born in Hiawatha, Kansas on October 27th 1957. He was the 4th of 6 children born to Larry and Darlene (Lehmkuhl) Stahl. David attended Hiawatha Schools, graduating from Hiawatha High School with the class of 1976.

He worked at MAC/Schenck Equipment for many years. David loved spending time watching his children doing things in life they enjoyed. His hard work and determination to never give up is something that was never unnoticed. He will join the love of his life with open arms.

He married Jane M. Spicer on January 18th 1978 in Fairview, Kansas. They had 43 wonderful years together. David is survived by his children: Eric (Kayla) Stahl of Sabetha, Jennifer (Seth) Hanes of Topeka, Jill (Stephen) Severin of Sabetha, Jodi (Dylan) Folk of Whiting; and 9 grandchildren: Katie, Brenden, Bayleigh, Tucker, Brody, Easton, Brylee, Ellie, and Tylee. Also surviving are his brothers, Art and Joe Stahl, sisters Leisa Stahl, Denise Pfeifer, and Sheri Lay. David was preceded in death by a grandson Bowen Neal Stahl.

David struggled with many physical conditions, but never complained. He lived the last few years for his grandchildren. David loved taking his grandchildren hunting and fishing. He was the best grandpa his grandchildren could have asked for. He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan and the family would like to encourage family and friends to attend his services in Chiefs gear.

Friends may call the funeral home after noon, Sunday. The visitation is planned for Sunday September 17th from 3-5PM at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Hiawatha. The celebration of life service is planned for Monday September 18th at 2:00PM at Chapel Oaks Funeral Home officiated by Pastor Richard Lehmkuhl, with burial to follow at the Cornielson Cemetery near Reserve, Kansas.
