Danny Masoner 1956-2025

Danny Lee Masoner passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, February 18th, 2025 in his home in Weston, Missouri. At the time of his passing he was 68 years old.

Danny was born in Fort Hood, Texas and raised in Weston, Missouri. He graduated from West Platte High School in 1974. Danny married Cindy (Large) July 12th 1975, after dating since 1971. Together they have three children, Randy Masoner (wife Leigh Anne), Danette Shepardson (husband Anthony), Lani Barnes (husband Josh), 10 grandchildren: Brett Shepardson (26), Hailey Shepardson (21), Colby Shepardson (19), Xane Masoner (18), Blaze Masoner (16), Layn Kear (15), Avery Masoner (12), Asher Masoner (newborn), Jordy Barnes (6), Charli Barnes (3), and one great-grandchild Maisie Shepardson (2) plus a second on the way.

Danny is survived by his wife Cindy, three children Randy, Danette, and Lani, his 10 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild, his sister Brenda Bless, and nephews Bill Masoner and Brandon Masoner. He is preceded in death by his parents Howard and Ruth Masoner, and his brothers Timmy and Mike Masoner.

Besides his family, Danny loved chocolate, a good steak, mowing grass, a good murder-mystery show, his Missouri Tigers and socializing at various sporting events of kids and grandkids. He was also very proud and loved to coach his kids in any sport they were participating in. He was a caring person, always willing to help, going above and beyond for others. People in his community of Weston knew they could count on him when needed. He was a father-figure to many. For 49 years, Danny worked at the Weston Water Treatment Plant. Even after retirement, Danny’s expertise was used in a part-time role at the Water Plant. Danny was always proud of the quality of water for the Weston community. Danny and Cindy’s homes were always full with family and friends, especially for Sunday dinners where a meal would feed any that wanted to join. Danny will be missed dearly by his family, friends, and members of the Weston community.
