Savannah High School has been randomly selected by T-Mobile to receive five thousand dollars as part of their Friday Night 5G Lights sweepstakes, meant to spur small-town football and community pride.

Savannah has also been added to a pool of 19 other schools, all in the running to win the grand prize of a million dollars. All told, T-Mobile has $8.4 million up for grabs for schools, with $5,000 weekly prizes, $25,000 for 40 finalists, $250,000 for four division champions, and the previously mentioned million dollar grand prize.

Funds will go towards improvements at the stadium and enhancing the game night experience for player and fans.

In our region, Plattsburg High has also been named as a $5,000 winner.

In Missouri alone, 77 high schools have applied to get their share, and eligible schools in towns under 150,000 people can still apply by going to this website before the 18th.
