Sue Z. Harmon, 81, of Leavenworth, KS passed away on November 19th, 2025 after living with Alzheimer’s disease. Sue was born on February 28, 1944 to Lee, Il-Sung and Song, Sook-Ja in Seoul, South Korea. She immigrated to the United States in 1968 and proudly became a U.S. citizen in 1972. She married Kenneth Harmon on August 23, 1974, in Wichita Falls, TX. Together they built a life grounded on commitment, partnership, and a bond that carried them through their 51 years of marriage.

Sue was devoted to her family and known for her strength, loyalty, and love for those closest to her. As the wife of an Army officer, she gracefully supported their family through each move and chapter, bringing the warmth of Korean hospitality and tradition wherever they lived. She was a loving mother to Suzanne and Roxanne and a deeply proud grandmother of Sara, Allison, Elisabeth, Bryan, and Adeline.

Her happiest moments were spent caring for her family, preparing meals with love, and creating a sense of harmony and togetherness in her home. Her faith was central to her life. She was baptized at First Christian Church in Leavenworth in 1986 and became a dedicated member of the Leavenworth Korean Full Gospel Church, where she found community, encouragement, and spiritual comfort. Her church family remembers her gentle spirit, humility, and devotion.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth, her daughters Suzanne Moore (Keith) and Roxanne Gelles (Tom) and her five beloved grandchildren.

A service to honor her life will be held on Monday, December 1st, 2025, at 11:00 AM, at Leavenworth Korean Full Gospel Church, followed by cremation. Her ashes will be placed to rest with her husband at a later date, in accordance with their wishes.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations to Leavenworth Korean Full Gospel Church or to the Alzheimer’s Foundation, organizations meaningful to her life and legacy.

Her family finds comfort knowing she is at peace, held in God’s care, and forever in the hearts of those who loved her.
