Jody Hundley, age 67, of Cummings, KS. passed away on Tuesday, February 17th, 2026, at her home.
She was born August 4th, 1958, in Killeen, TX to the late Gene Garrett Rutledge and Bobbie Jo (Valentine) Chadwick.
Jody worked for many years as an Operational Assistant Manager at Benedictine College in Atchison, KS.
Jody cherished time spent with family and friends and adored her Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. She enjoyed cheering for the Kansas City Chiefs and watching hummingbirds and squirrels that frequented her yard.
Jody and Phil Hundley were united in marriage in Rushville, MO. on February 25th, 1989, and would have celebrated 37 years of marriage within the next few days.
Survivors include her husband Phil Hundley of the home; their daughter, Shala (Jeff) Gering of Atchison, KS. Grandchildren, Hannah (Lance) Hodges, of Leavenworth KS. Hunter (Nina) Conard, of Atchison, KS. a Great Granddaughter, Laila Hodges, and a Great Grandson, Remington Conard; three sisters, Sherry (Terry) Parker of Mustang, OK. Toni (Edward) Brink of Waverly, TN. Gracie (Jeremy) Klontz of Spokane, WA. and one brother, Gene Rutledge Jr. of Lordsburg, NM.
Jody is preceded in death by her parents, Gene Garrett Rutledge, and Bobbie Jo Chadwick, and a sister, Letha “Micki” Susan Brake.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, Feb. 22, 2026, at the Becker Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home, 800 Kansas Ave. Atchison, KS. 66002. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 pm on Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Cancer Society and may be sent in care of the funeral home.
Following the services, the body will be cremated.
