Carlton Wayne Olmstead, 59, of St. Joseph, MO passed away Saturday, November 25, 2023 in St. Joseph, MO. He was born July 16, 1964 in Watertown, NY, son of Carol Olmstead. He graduated from Carthage High School, in Carthage, NY class of 1982. He married Melody Barnes on February 14, 1999 in Las Vegas. He served in the US Army and US Army Reserves. He previously worked at Bob Betts Auto and Bradken Steel. His hobbies included hunting and fishing, shooting guns, camping, wood working and crafts. He was an avid animal lover and enjoyed family gatherings. Carlton was preceded in death by mother, Carol Olmstead, step-father, Dewey Genito. Survivors include wife, Melody Olmstead of the home, sons, Christopher Thomas and Carlton Wayne Thomas of NY, step-sons, Brian (Misty) Amos, John Amos and Christopher Amos, all of St. Joseph, brother, Mark (Jodie) Sheltray of NY, and 15 grandchildren.
Funeral services and public live stream; 2:00 pm, Friday, December 1, 2023 at the Rupp Funeral Home with Interment following at Ashland Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Friday at the Rupp Funeral Home.
