Lois C. Fare, 84, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2024.
She was born December 26, 1939 in Maryville, Missouri to Cecil and Gladys (Partridge) Tuttle. Lois grew up in Maryville and graduated from Horace Mann High School.
Lois married James H. “Harry” Fare on April 30, 1960. He preceded her in death on February 24, 2017.
She worked at TG&Y for a few years until going to work at Hobby Lobby in Fabrics, where she retired after 25 years. Lois loved to sew and her expertise quickly became known among customers, who would seek her out for advice on fabrics for everything from curtains to wedding dresses.
Lois and Harry loved to go camping with friends in south Missouri in their younger years. She also liked going to craft shows to pick up new ideas, antiquing, and visiting family and friends.
Besides many bolts of unused fabric, Lois leaves behind many precious memories for her family. She was a loving mother and grandmother whose door was always open.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Harry; her parents; daughter, Kristy; and granddaughter, Jamie Jacobs.
Survivors include her daughters, Kathy Kelsey (Curtis) and Karen Barnett (Tom); grandchildren, Jennifer Murphy (Terry), and Ashley Emily and Chelsea Barnett; and great-granddaughter, Madilynn Murphy.
