Ivy Pauline Spriggs 1964 - 2024

Ivy Pauline Spriggs, 59 of Savannah, MO passed away peacefully at KU Medical Center on June 9th, 2024 surrounded by loved ones. She was born November 19, 1964 in Waynesboro, PA to Roy Edwin Jr & Catherine Elizabeth (Kelly) Miller. She married “the one that got away” Robert Spriggs in Savannah on October 6th, 2012 and he survives of the home.

Ivy was an everlasting light to those she loved. She was full of adventure and passion in every turn. Ivy never met a stranger; her heart, mind, and arms were always open. She had an outspoken personality that got her through life. Ivy was the rock that held her family together. She was a strong person that fought until the very end. She loved her family more than anything and will be extremely missed. Ivy was an exciting and wonderful mother who was always there when her children needed her the most, offering support, wisdom, and love. She was a friend and even family to many. She could do anything she set her mind to, and she did it no matter what. Ivy was a jack of all trades from working at gas stations to driving a big rig but most of all being a mom and wife.

Ivy is survived by her husband; children, Chrystal (Josh) Vessar of Maysville, MO, Kendall Russell of St. Joseph, Johnathan Miller of St. Joseph, and Talon Johnson of St. Joseph; grandchildren, Bryndan (Haley)Vessar, Catelyn Vessar, Adam Vessar, and Kenley Russell; great-grandchildren, Kingsley & Haven; sibling’s, Joyce, Diana, Marvin, Anita, Roy III, and Peggy and many nieces and nephews.  

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Carolyn.

Visitation and family receiving hours will be 6:00pm-8:00pm Thursday, June 13, 2024 at Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home, Savannah, MO. Funeral Services will be 1:00pm Friday, June 14, 2024 at Breit-Hawkins Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Savannah Cemetery, Savannah, MO. Memorial contributions can be made to St Joseph Animal Control & Rescue at 701 SW Lower Lake Rd, St Joseph, MO 64504. There will be a celebration of life at Savannah City Park after the services.
