Carolyn "Susie" Sue Guinn, 81, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at her home in St. Joseph.
She was born January 30, 1944 in St. Joseph, MO, daughter of Viola and William "Bill" McDowell. Susie was a 1963 graduate of Benton High School. On October 26, 1963, she married Bob Guinn. Susie was a dedicated Homemaker. Some of her favorite times included making and collecting ceramic dolls, and she enjoyed taking quarter rides with Bob. Susie was very devoted to her grandchildren, she had a special place in her heart for babies, and will be remembered for her contagious laugh.
Susie was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Bud, Harold, Raymond, Ivan, and Bob McDowell, sisters, Mildred Bartch, Ellen Foreman, and Doris Warren, and son-in-law, Jake Jackson.
Survivors include: husband, Bob W. Guinn of the home, daughters, Dee Anna (Roger) Ebling and Kari Jackson, all of St Joseph, sons, Steven (Kim) Guinn of Goldsboro, NC and Ryan (Kat) Guinn of Newbern, NC, sister, Billie Hamm of St. Joseph, 13 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Rupp Funeral Home with Pastor Dave Mejia officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Saturday at the Rupp Funeral Home. Ms. Guinn will be cremated following services, and Inurnment will be a later date at Ashland Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Cornea Research Foundation of America or American Diabetes Association.
