Patty A. Chaffin passed away on June 3, 2023, at the age of 65. Patty was born on November 8, 1957, in Leavenworth, Kansas, to the late Lyman and Loretta (Ennis) Brushwood. She is survived by an extensive and close-knit family, as well as numerous friends who will cherish her memory.
Throughout her life, Patty was known for her kind-hearted nature and unwavering devotion to her family. She leaves behind a legacy that includes her beloved children, Cassie Chaffin, Jimmy Watts (Kim), Michael Zeleznik (Laurie), Heather Watts, Matt Wenger (Emily), Daryl Watts (Dorena), Keli Ross, Emily Bunch, Billie Lu Mozee (Pay), and Billie Jo Mollett. Her grandchildren, Daniel, Kylan, Diamond, Shado, Dezmon, Kaleb, Trevor, Kelsee, Hannah, Willie, Marilee, Matty, Lexy, Meeka, Quincey, Troy, Tasha, Geneva, Nick, Hayden, Jack, Madison, and Braxton, as well as her great-grandchildren, Ti'Avian, Ja'Kobi, Sa'faiya, Jymon Jr., Cali, and Raylan, will carry on her legacy of love and compassion.
Patty is also survived by her siblings, Pam and Lee Brushwood, who will miss their sister's warmth and laughter. Glenda Sechler, her devoted BFF whom she loved spending time with. She was predeceased by her parents, her soulmate, Billy Watts, and her sister, Penny Brushwood. In addition to her family, Patty touched the lives of countless friends and extended family members.
A proud member of R.O.C. Fellowship Church, Patty's faith was the cornerstone of her life. She would frequently post thoughtful prayers that her friends and community members looked forward to reading each morning. Her spiritual presence and devotion served as an inspiration and source of comfort to many throughout her life.
Patty's love for cooking brought joy to those around her, as she regularly shared her delicious culinary creations with friends and family members. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and would often cook for them, ensuring that everyone felt welcomed and loved. Her generosity extended beyond her family circle, as she would also prepare meals for her neighbors at St. Francis Apartments. Patty's culinary skills were only surpassed by her thoughtful and caring nature, making her home a warm and welcoming place for all who entered.
An enthusiastic Kansas City Chiefs football fan, Patty's passion for her team brought excitement and camaraderie to those around her. Her fervent support, unwavering loyalty, and infectious enthusiasm endeared her to fellow fans from all walks of life.
Patty A. Chaffin's memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her. As a testament to her enduring impact, her family and friends will carry on her legacy, spreading kindness and love in the same way Patty so effortlessly did throughout her life.
