MSHP IDs teen who drown while swimming in river

BUTLER COUNTY — A teen drown in an accident just after 5p.m. Saturday in Butler County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a swimmer identified as James A. Muller, 18, Poplar Bluff, was swinging from a rope into the Black River just south of County Road 608.

 He began to struggle, submerged and did not resurface. He was pronounced dead at the scene and transported by the Butler County Coroner.  Authorities released no additional details.
