The St. Joseph Mustangs lost to the Carroll Merchants 10-9 in walk-off fashion Wednesday in a game that went 11 innings at Merchants Park in Carroll.
St. Joseph led 9-7 at the top of the 11th, but the Merchants scored three runs in the bottom of the frame to steal a win.
St. Joseph also led 7-3 in the top of the ninth before the Merchants scored four runs to tie the game and send it to extras.
Lafayette alum Ike Book went 1-for-5 with four RBIs, including a three-run home run. Ben Click was 2-for-4 with two runs scored.
Starting pitcher Aron Harrington went six innings, allowing four hits and three earned runs. He struck out four and walked three. Jaren Guck was charged with the loss.
The Mustangs are now 25-12 on the season. The team returns home for a three-game homestand beginning with a game Thursday against the KC Monarchs.
First pitch from Phil Welch Stadium is set for 7 p.m.
