Schmitt, Busch Valentine win Senate primary, Rusty Black wins state senate primary

Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt is the Republican nominee to succeed retiring U.S. Senator Roy Blunt.

Schmitt, in a crowded field of 21 candidates, received 45.1% of the vote. Schmitt defeated Congresswoman Vicky Hartzler and former Missouri governor Eric Greitens.

Hartzler had 22% of the vote, while Greitens had 18.9%.

Schmitt will face Trudy Busch Valentine on the Democrat side in November. Valentine won a tight race over Lucas Kunce, receiving 43.1% of the vote. Kunce received 38.4%.

Incumbent Sam Graves won the Republican nomination for U.S. Representative in Missouri's 6th Congressional district, garnering 76% of the vote.

In a state senate race in northwest Missouri, state Rep. Rusty Black won the District 12 race big, raking in 64.8% percent of the vote. State Rep. J. Eggleston finished second with 25.9% with former state Rep. Delus Johnson coming in third.
