Mo. teen injured after pickup slides on icy bridge, strikes a tree

GRUNDY COUNTY—One person was injured in an accident just after 5a.m. Thursday in Grundy County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 1997 Chevy S10 driven by an 18-year-old  from Trenton was westbound on Route A three and one half miles northwest of Trenton. The driver lost control on an ice covered bridge. The pickup traveled off the road and struck a tree. 

Grundy County ambulance transported the driver to Wright Memorial Hospital and he was later transported to St. Lukes in Kansas City. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to the MSHP.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol no longer releases the identity of accident victims.
