ATCHISON COUNTY, Mo., —One person was injured in an accident just before 11p.m. Tuesday in Atchison County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported 2004 Peterbilt semi driven by Charles E. Janzen, 49, Hampton, Nebraska, was southbound on Interstate 29 five miles north of Rock Port.
The driver fell asleep. The semi traveled off the road, became airborne, struck the ground and came to rest off the west side of I-29.
Atchison-Holt EMS transported Janzen to Fairfax Hospital. He was not wearing a seat belt, according to the MSHP.
