James (Jim) Lewis Shipman, 77, died unexpectedly, May 13 2024 @ North Kansas City Hospital. He was born March 5th, 1947 in Warren Ohio, the son of Jim and Daisey Shipman.
Jim graduated from Maplewood High School in 1965. Following graduation he entered into the Navy where he served 4 years. After the Navy he started working for Delta Airlines where he worked and retired after 36 years. He Married Katherine (Kathy) Shipman June 10th, 1972. They have been married for almost 52 years.
He is survived by his sons David Shipman wife Michelle Shipman and grandson Jacob, son James E Shipman (Jimmy) wife Shelley Shipman and 3 grandsons Cole, Carson, & Caleb, daughter Karen Shipman, brother Larry Shipman, sister-in-law Jane Shipman, Sister-in-law Betty Shipman, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he is proceeded by his brothers Richard Shipman and Gary Shipman.
Jim loved spending time with his grandchildren, friends, and family. Once a month he would get together with some of the Delta retirees for their Delta Breakfast club they called it.
A service of remembrance will be held at Vaughn Funeral Home 18905 Hwy 45 Weston, MO 64098, May 21st, visitation 10 to Noon with services to follow. No graveside service will be had, he will be cremated with a small private family service at a later date. Please make any contributions to the American Cancer Society.
