Theresa E. Schneider, age 82, of Atchison, KS, died peacefully on Monday, March 18, 2024, with her daughters by her side.

Mass of Christian burial will be Saturday, March 23, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at St. Benedict Church with Rev. Jeremy Heppler, OSB as celebrant. Visitation with the family will be Saturday at the church from 1:00-1:45 p.m. and a rosary will begin at 1:45 before mass. Memorials are suggested to St. Benedict Catholic School or St. Benedict Parish in care of the Arensberg-Pruett Funeral Home.

Theresa was born August 27, 1941, in Horton, KS, the daughter of William H. and Emma C. (Wigand) Wohletz.  She attended St. Benedict Elementary School and graduated from Mount Saint Scholastica Academy. After school, she began her employment with Commerce Bank before taking a role with Blish Mize as a computer operator in data entry. She then took on the important role as a secretary for Sacred Heart School until its consolidation with ACES where she continued until her retirement role as “nana”. She was a member of St. Benedict Parish and the church Altar Society.

Terri and Dale loved traveling to any and all of their grandchildren’s events. Their grandchildren were their world, even so, that when each grandchild was born, Terri would spend at least two weeks with her daughters to assist with the new addition to the family. KSU football then fell second in most importance after family, but only because her family would usually be with them as they cheered on the Cats! They were season ticket KSU football holders for over twenty years and hardly missed the opportunity to travel to any bowl game. Terri was also an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan.

Terri and Dale B. Schneider were united in marriage on January 19, 1963, at St. Benedict Catholic Church. Dale preceded her in death on October 9, 2020. Survivors include three daughters, Catherine (Jon) Mitchell, Liberty, MO; Lori Jones, McPherson, KS; Angela (Nathan) Haberichter, Wichita, KS; nine grandchildren, Caleb (Bailey) Mitchell, Kirsten (Payton) Mitchell, Carly (Matt) Jones, Amanda (Alex) Jones, Morgan (Tristan) Jones, Emelia (Devin) Jones, Noah Haberichter, Kara Haberichter, Chase Haberichter; one great grandson, Granvil Patterson; three brothers, Alfred Wohletz, Atchison, KS; Robert Wohletz, Atchison, KS; Carl Wohletz, Alexandria, VA; and a sister, Delores Winters, Annapolis, MD.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Dale B. Schneider, and a sister, Dorothy Lesher.
