Evelyn Lucille Simpson, 79, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Monday, February 10, 2025.
She was born on January 28, 1946 to James Harry and Ruby Ophelia (Ethridge) Rodney in Downey, California.
Evelyn, a cherished homemaker whose hands skillfully crocheted love into every stitch and whose intellect conquered crossword puzzles with ease, passed away, leaving a legacy of warmth and wisdom. Evelyn found joy in the pages of countless books and devoted her time to the fellowship at McCarthy Baptist Church.
Evelyn's memory is tenderly carried on by her son and daughter-in-law, David and Carol Simpson; her daughter, Wendy Burnes; her granddaughter, Andrea Richter, accompanied by her husband Robbie; and her great-grandchildren, David, Dean, Jimi Richter, and Autumn Caswell. Her journey now continues beyond the bonds of this earth, reuniting with her dear parents, her siblings Calvin, Tom, Frank, Clyde, Betty, Cybil, and her grandson, Levi Reed, who preceded her in death.
