After being closed earlier this month, the Interstate 229 double decker bridge will see another short term closure next week to complete inspections of the off and on ramps.
The I-229 double-decker bridge was closed earlier this month for its biannual inspection and annual maintenance, but due to the weather, crews from the Missouri Department of Transportation had to delay inspection of the bridge’s on- and off-ramps. Those inspections are now scheduled for Tuesday, October 20th and Wednesday, October 21st.
Crews may have short-term closures of the following I-229 ramps at various times.
- Southbound I-229: To Felix Street, from Charles Street, to Route 759, and to U.S. Route 36 eastbound.
- Northbound I-229: From Francis Street, to Edmond Street, and from Route 759.
All work is weather-permitting, and schedules are subject to change. MoDOT asks drivers to always buckle up, keeping your phone down, slow down and move over in work zones. Know before you go and check what work zones you might encounter at traveler.modot.org.
