Bishop LeBlond boys' golf has won a district title for an eighth straight season, finishing with a team score of 301 at the Class 3 District 4 meet at Shirkey Golf Course in Richmond Monday.
The Eagles finished 15 shots ahead of second place Barstow. LeBlond’s Tim Johnston is an individual district champion, shooting a one-over par 72. His twin brother, Pat Johnston, finished 2nd with a two-over par 73.
Sam Schoeberl finished tied for fourth with a 76. Davis Jungbluth is also statebound, as he finished 12th with a score of 80.
The Eagles will compete at state golf next Monday and Tuesday at Meadow Lake Acres Country Club in New Bloomfield.
Also qualifying from Class 3 District, Savannah’s Zachary Merritt placed seventh with a score of 78. Benton’s Kamden Morlock is also state bound with a score of 86.
Other area state golf qualifiers
Class 1 District 4 at Excelsior Springs - The Gallatin boys won a team title with a score of 368. Jack Donovan tied with Maysville's Jace Harms and Stanberry's Jordyn Wright for first. They each shot a 17-over par 89.
Gallatin's Isaac Bird was second with a 90. King City's Samuel Dirks is also state bound, placing 6th with a 92. King City's Brady Armfied was 10th with a 94. Gallatin's Payton Feiden tied for 10th with a 94. Gallatin's Logan Bottcher was right behind with a 95, placing 12th.
Maysville's Elijah Gaiser and Maclain White each placed inside the top 20 to get to state as well, as they both shot a 99. Connor Michael was Gallatin's last state qualifier as he shot 101.
Class 5 District 4 at Blue Springs - St. Joseph Central’s Jackson Patterson tied for 5th overall with a three-over par 75, punching his ticket to state.
