Everett Verl Jonas Sr. 1954 - 2025

Everett Verl Jonas Sr. 71, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2025 at his home. He was born February 10, 1954 in St. Joseph, MO, son of the late Virgie and James Jonas.

He graduated from Lafayette High School, and attended college for 2 years. He served in the United States Navy, and is a veteran of the Viet Nam War. Everett married Joyce Matthews on March 12, 1977, and she survives of the home. He worked at Atchison Casting and I & M Machine Shop as a Quality Control Inspector, he was also a certified Harley Davidson mechanic. Everett enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing, playing chess, he liked to have a good time, and spend time with his family, especially his grand babies, and he was an avid Chiefs fan. He was a member of American Legion Post #359.

Everett was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Roger Reital, Jr., Robert Reital, Don Jonas, and Carl Jonas, three sisters, Bernice M. Schubert, Rosezella Standish, and Sharon Allday.

Survivors include: wife, Joyce Jonas of the home, five children: Everett Verl (Cindy) Jonas Jr., Misty (Joey) Jonas, Crissy (John) Wolfenbarger, Ira (Ashley) Jonas, and Patrick (Liz) Jonas all of St. Joseph, MO, grandchildren, Marissa, MaLeah, MaKayla, Jayden, Jordyn, Dawson, Halen, Taylor, Jaxson, Sophia, Kyle, Kati, Mazie, Jacob, and Joey, 13 great grandchildren, a sister, Lucille Weiberg, as well as several nieces and nephews, and his fur babies, Maggie, Petey, and the late, Cinnamon. 

The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 pm on Monday at the Rupp Funeral Home. Funeral services and public live stream; 11:00 am, Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at the Rupp Funeral Home, Pastor Tim Wilson officiating. The Interment will be at the  Blakely Cemetery, Easton, MO with full military honors.
