St. Joseph Post

St. Joseph police are searching for what they describe as a person of interest in the shooting and wounding of two people coming out of the Dollar General store at 17th and Messanie Street Monday morning.

A search for Byron Miller, which included the use of the police SWAT team, has been unsuccessful so far.

Police report two people suffered non-life-threatening wounds when shot outside the Dollar General store shortly before 10:30 Monday morning. Police believe the shooter was waiting in the parking lot for the two to leave the store and then opened fire. Police identify the victims only as a juvenile male and a man in his 20s.

The investigation continues.
