Planned roadwork for Northwest Missouri, April 27-May 3

The following is a list of general highway maintenance and construction work the Missouri Department of Transportation has planned in the Northwest Missouri region for the week of April 27-May 3.

There may be moving operations, such as mowing, brush cutting and litter removal, throughout the region in addition to the work mentioned below. Inclement weather may cause schedule changes in some of the planned work. Check the MoDOT Traveler Information Map, or download the app for updated information.

MoDOT asks drivers to work with us by buckling up, putting your phone down, slowing down and moving over in work zones.

Andrew County

Route CC – Bridge maintenance at the bridge over I-29, April 27-30. The bridge will be narrowed to one lane with temporary traffic signals.

Atchison County

U.S. Route 136 – Resurfacing and drainage improvement project through July 2026. The road will be narrowed to one lane, and a 10-foot width restriction will be in place.

Routes 46, 111, V, B, C – Various bridge rehabilitation projects through May 2026. The bridges may be narrowed to one lane with flaggers.

Buchanan County

Interstate 29 – Northbound lanes narrowed to one lane overnight with short-term rolling closures while crews set new bridge girders for the Gene Field Road Bridge, April 28. 7 p.m. to 10 a.m. Motorists should expect delays.

  1. I-29 ramp to Route 6 (Fredrick Boulevard) will be closed between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. due to rolling closure.

Gene Field Road Bridge – CLOSED for a bridge replacement project through July 2026.

U.S. Route 59/Route 752/Route U – Intersection improvement project through spring 2027.

U.S. Route 169 – CLOSED for an intersection improvement project at Southeast Riverside Terrace through mid-July 2026.

U.S. Route 169 – Intersection improvement project at Route FF through mid-August 2026. A 10-foot width restriction will be in place. Access to 49th Street will be closed through June 2026.

I-229 – CLOSED overnight at the southbound ramp to Route A for sign maintenance, April 29, 7 p.m. to midnight.

U.S. Route 36 & Route AC (Riverside Road) – narrowed for core drilling on U.S. Route 36, Route AC, and the bridge on/off ramps, April 30 – May 1. Flaggers may be present to guide traffic through the work zones on Route AC.

Caldwell County

Route 13 –Resurfacing and ADA improvements project from Samuel Street to School Street in Hamilton through mid-May. Route 13 will be narrowed to one lane with flaggers.

Clinton County

I-35 – Pavement rehabilitation in the southbound lanes from Exit 40 (Lathrop) to Exit 48 (south Cameron) through September 2026. Both north and southbound traffic will be one lane, each direction, in the northbound lanes.

I-35 – Utility/permit work at the 51.4 mile marker, May 2-4. North and southbound lanes will each be narrowed to one lane around the clock. Motorists should expect delays.

  1. Short-term rolling closures north and southbound from U.S. Route 36 to U.S. Route 69 to pull utility lines across the interstate, May 2.
  2. Route BB ramps to southbound I-35 will have short-term intermittent closures, during the rolling closures, May 2.

Daviess County

Route 13 – Resurfacing and ADA improvements project from Berry Street to Van Buren Street in Gallatin through mid-May. Route 13 will be narrowed to one lane with flaggers.

Route K – CLOSED for a culvert replacement from Route P to Hope Avenue, April 27-28, 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily.

Route PP – Seal coat overlay from Route Z to Drake Avenue, April 28.

Holt County

Routes B, 111, 59, C, N – Various bridge rehabilitation projects through May 2026. The bridges may be narrowed to one lane with flaggers.

Nodaway County

U.S. Route 71 – Resurfacing project from the Iowa state line to U.S. Route 136 near Burlington Junction through August 2026. The road will be narrowed to one lane, and a 10-foot width restriction will be in place.

Route 148 – Scrub seal project, April 27-May 1. The road will be narrowed to one lane with a pilot car guiding motorists through the work zone.

Route E – CLOSED for a culvert replacement from 170th Street to 160th Street, April 27, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Route E – CLOSED for a culvert replacement from 160th Street to 150th Street, April 28-29, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.

Route E – CLOSED for a culvert replacement from 140th Street to 130th Street, April 30, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Route 113 – Various bridge rehabilitation projects through May 2026. The bridges may be narrowed to one lane with flaggers.

Worth County

Route 46 – CLOSED at Marlowe Branch Creek for a bridge replacement project through May 2026.
