Harold E. Hardy, 84, Savannah, Missouri, passed away Friday, March 15, 2024.
He was born January 14, 1940 in Quincy, Illinois to Cecil and Oneeda (Johnston) Hardy. Being a minister’s son, Harold grew up in many different towns, mostly in Missouri.
Harold married Dixie Ellen Long on September 19, 1959 in Brimson, Missouri. She survives of the home.
He hauled freight for many different companies for a total of 36 years, retiring from Wynne Transport.
Harold loved gardening, tinkering and puttering around the house — anything to keep his hands busy. He also enjoyed working on antique cars with his son, playing the guitar, and visiting with family.
He was a member of Passion Church in Cameron, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Karlee Darling; and siblings, Paul Hardy, Ellen Purvis and Harry Dean Hardy.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Dixie; children, Lonnie Hardy (Colleen) and Tina Darling (Shawn); grandchildren, Jason Lee Wilson (Linda), Trent Dewayne Darling, Auston Hardy (Kelle), and Emmanuel Gonzalez (Hannah); great-grandchildren, Noah, Josilyn, Gideon and Zymri; and brother, Aubrey Hardy.
Farewell Services 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, Passion Church, Cameron, Missouri. Interment Helena Cemetery. The family will gather with friends one hour prior to the service. Online guest book and obituary at www.meierhoffer.com.
