Megan Rose Caddell, 39, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at her home. She was born April 22, 1984 in St. Joseph, daughter of Rhonda (Meng) and Michael Caddell. Megan spent her first week of life at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City due to a birth defect, Tuberous Sclerosis. Even with her disability, she always had a smile and enjoyed life to the fullest. At age 2, she began attending UCP for therapy and socialization. At age 5, she began attending Helen Davis State School, where she graduated from in 2005. At Helen Davis, she met the love of her life, Justin Gould, who passed in 2016. Megan also continued to attend the UCP Adult Program for several years. She was a member of the St. James Catholic Church. Megan enjoyed eating, going into her community and swimming.
She is preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Richard and Inez Meng, paternal grandparents, Roy and Willa Caddell and several great aunts and uncles. She is survived by her mother and step-father, Rhonda and Roderick DuLac of St. Joseph, father, Michael Caddell of St. Joseph, brother, Scott Caddell of San Diego, CA, all who she totally adored. She is also survived by uncles and aunts, Gregory Meng, Tamara and Jeff John, Tracy and Brian Resch, bonus grandparents, Charlene and Randall DuLac, Selena and Clayton Richards, Lyle DuLac, and many aunts, uncles and cousins on the DuLac side. She is also survived by caregivers Kathy Parker and Rebekeh Rutherford.
Miss Caddell has been cremated under the care of Rupp Funeral Home.A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 4:00 pm, Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at the Rupp Funeral Home, where the family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Tuesday. Cousin Cheri Dedman will be officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date at the Bellemont Cemetery in Wathena, KS. Memorials are requested to United Cerebral Palsy of Northwest Missouri.
